Caney Fork Farmers

David Hunt

Farm Apprentice

David is an apprentice at Caney Fork Farms, driven by a deep belief in the regenerative potential of small, local agriculture. Inspired by Wendell Berry’s The Unsettling of America and the farming legacy of four generations of his family in Michigan, David sees thoughtful food production as a powerful force for healing landscapes, ecosystems, rural economies, and human health. Before joining Caney Fork, he bootstrapped a pastured poultry operation in the windswept shadow of the Eastern Sierra Nevada, where he learned firsthand the value of daily movement, outdoor living, and ecological balance for livestock. David is on a mission to understand how food systems management can regenerate far more than soil—nourishing both people and place in the process.
